OK... this may sound a bit corny but think of your celebrant led ceremony as a blank piece of paper. Whilst a registrar ceremony is more like starting with a pre-filled form.
When working with a celebrant you can decide:
PLUS, your celebrant won't be a stranger!
Unlike a registrar wedding, there are very few restrictions. We can build a celebration that's all about you rather following a prescribed format. You can have creative freedom and the script will be tailored specifically to you and your style.
Don't forget, your ceremony can involve your whole wedding party including your children, we can remember those who you have lost, we can include rituals, readings, music and we can have FUN. You can even raise a glass of something fizzy to each other if you wish! Fancy a themed ceremony - I'm up for that!
Every couple is unique so your ceremony should be too!
NB/ Celebrants cannot conduct a legal marriage ceremony. Don't let this put for off. I suggest a simple 'statutory ceremony' with your local registrars, followed by a celebrant ceremony.

Is it better to use a registrar?
Obviously that's totally up to you! Here's a few things to consider.
Registrars in England & Wales are bound by many legal restrictions. This limits your choice of venue, music, readings and rituals. Legal requirements restrict the content of the service, with certain words required to legalise the marriage.
Perhaps, most importantly you are unlikely to met your registrar beforehand and they are likely to have multiple weddings on the same day.
However, I would never disrespect the hardworking registrars. The legal ceremony can prove incredibly moving & please bear in mind a celebrant is unable to legally marry you.
Hello, lovely couple!
As a wedding celebrant, I have the incredible privilege of being part of one of life’s most cherished moments. Each occasion is unique, and I’m here to help you create something truly special.
I remember one wedding that still brings a smile to my face. The couple held their ceremony in an outdoor gazebo, of course, the UK weather was a bit unpredictable. Just as they exited the gazebo, to the Beatles 'Here comes the sun', the sun broke through the clouds! It felt like magic. Moments like these remind me why I love being a wedding celebrant so much.
As your celebrant, my goal is to make your ceremony personal and meaningful. I often encourage couples to incorporate elements that reflect their journey together. One couple I worked with shared stories from their travels, by the end, their guests felt like they’d been part of the journey!
I also understand that wedding ceremony planning can feel overwhelming. That’s why I strive to make the process as easy and fun as possible. I’m here to listen, guide, and support you every step of the way, ensuring your ceremony reflects your personality and values. I will also liaise with other wedding suppliers to ensure the process is seamless for you.
